Ne-Yo - Champagne Life Single Review

Review of Ne-Yo's single Champagne Life released through Def Jam

After waxing lyrical over 'Libra Scales', the stunning fourth album from Ne-yo on these hallowed web pages, I am gonna let you into a lil secret, word is that this is going to be part of a double a side or two track single with "Beautiful Monster". This isn't common knowledge at the moment and the label don't want it to be known yet, doh! lol, because they do not want to confuse radio or have the airplay of "Beautiful Monster" diluted in any way. So this is just between you and err me ;-) From a totally personal and a real heads point of view this is the better track by miles. This exquisite smoothed out soulful R&B mid beat monster is simply breath taking. From the opening strings you just know Champagne Life is going to be an R&B master class and trust me it is. Like "Can We Chill" I will never get fed up with this track. It tells the story of three guys that go from virtual average Joe's eating pizza and drinking cheap beers to the equivalent of lottery winners over night (see album review for the full story). The opening lyric says it all "welcome to the Champagne Life where your only troubles are a bubble in a champagne glass and where your dreams and reality are one and the same". The production and music is jaw dropping, the fiercest snares and bass lines that give the track its street appeal whilst still being smooth enough for the soul heads, this is matched by the pure class of the strings and keyboards. Sit Ne-yo's breathtaking vocals on top of all of this and you really have the cherry on the cake. For all my love for this single in all honesty at a commercial level in the UK and probably across Europe it will be "Beautiful Monster" that's the hit. In America I'm sure it will be a very different story as it is to theses ears. Its "Champagne Life" all the way for me baby.

People magazine declares Salman as the ‘sexiest man’ alive! Do you think so???

The People magazine (India) has voted Salman Khan as the sexiest man alive.
Should we call this a co-incidence??? If you remember, just a few days back, Shahrukh Khan was declared as the sexiest dad by a magazine. And now, Salman has been named the sexiest man alive in the December issue of People mag.
Plunging down the neckline of his tee on the cover, Salman jokingly says in the interview: “I am comfortable in worn-out, torn jeans and tees. Only the underwear shouldn’t be torn!”
The superstar also joked that despite being named the sexiest, he won’t wear a bikini.

John sans trunks in Dostana sequel…

John Abraham will be seen in his HOTTEST avatar in Dostana sequel. The actor is thinking of stripping his trunks too. Oolala!
It is heard that Tarun Mansukhani will begin his work on Dostana 2 early next year.
The director while talking to a daily revealed that he is too much under pressure for regarding the sequel as he plans to make it more entertaining. Tarun claims that the sequel will be bolder than the original and John will be seen sans his trunks. For the sequel Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and John Abraham are finalized.
Now. this is gonna be fun…

Gorillaz To Release First Album To Be Recorded Solely On An IPad On Xmas…For Free!

The Gorillaz have been giving out all types of exclusive gifts on their virtual advent calendar on their website, but the best gift is yet to come!
Jamie Hewlett, a frequent collaborator with the group, has confirmed that a Gorillaz album, recorded entirely on iPad, will be released on Christmas morning as a FREE GIFT for fans.
Here's what Hewlett had to say about it:

"On Christmas Eve, a video for one of the new songs from the iPad album will be released. Then, on Christmas Day, fans get the whole album downloaded to their computer for free as a gift."

Here's what Gorillaz' Damon Albarn had to say about his feat:

"I literally made it on the road in America over a month. I didn't write it before; I didn't prepare it. I just did it day by day as a kind of diary of my experience in America."

Pretty impressive, Damon! We'll look forward to checking it out!

TayTay Taking The Lead In New Book-To-Movie Franchise

Remember how in the first Twilight movie everyone just kind of forgot about Taylor Lautner and fell totally in love with Robert Pattinson?
Well, we just hope whatever supporting actor that gets cast along Tay Tay in his new movie has the kind of luck Lautner had!
Sources are reporting that Taylor has signed on to star in Incarceron for Fox 2000. Adapted from the successful YA novel, Tay Tay will play a teenage prisoner in a twisted futuristic reality where people have been placed in jail that goes way beyond just keeping people locked up. He enlists the daughter of the warden to help him make a daring escape.
Whoever gets to play the daughter is DAMN LUCKY!

Celina re-launches pro-gay mag Bombay Dost

After going defunct for 7 years, India’s first gay magazine Bombay Dost was re-launched on Thursday evening in Mumbai by actress and gay activist Celina Jaitley.
The magazine in its new bolder than ever avatar has Celina Jaitley not only supporting it, but also writing articles for it.
Actor Celina Jaitley said, “I’m going to write for the next issue. It’s an honour. I have a lot of websites fighting for this issue.”
Apart from the cause, Celina Jaitley was also excited about her 8 releases this year starting with Paying Guest.
Jaitley said, “My next is Paying Guest with Mukta arts and Shreyas Talpade. It’s a comedy film based in Thailand .. based on a famous Marathi play Paying Guest. People will love it because they will see me again with Shreyas after Golmaal Returns acting mad as usual.

Michael Bay Admits Failure With Transformers 2, Says He's Done After Part 3

This is impressive, Michael. Makes us feel MUCH better about the new astronaut Transformers movie.
During an interview, Michael Bay admitted that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen failed in certain ways. Here's what he had to say about it:

"We tried to learn from the second movie. On the second movie we got burned. We had a writers strike, we had to agree on a story in three weeks, and then we knew they were going on strike. It was a f***ed scenario all the way around; it wasn't fair to the writer; it wasn't fair to me; it wasn't fair to anybody. It was still an entertaining movie, but I think we failed on certain aspects. What we did with this movie is I think we have a much better script, and we got back to basics. … It's more serious. I got rid of the dorky comedy; I mean we've got two little characters, that's it, but the dorkiness is not there. Dork-free Transformers. It's much more serious. It's still entertaining; it's big looking."

And here's Michael on the future of the Transformers franchise:

"I think this has gotta be it. I think someone else will take the torch from here. … It's just that I don't think you could do it again with Shia [LaBeouf] and everybody, I think it's time to move on."

All sounds good to us, Michael! We think you're making the right moves.

Ever after making her debut in Dabangg opposite Salman khan, Sonakshi Sinha career seems to be rising here and higher. This actress first bagged Joker opposite Akshay Kumar and now she has also0 been finalized for Race 2.
Race 2, directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Ramesh Taurani (Tips), stars big names such as Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone.
Confirming the same, producer Ramesh Taurani says, “Yes we have finalised Sonakshi along with Deepika for the female lead and are now on the look out for one more actress to play the role of the female character.”
Also Sonakshi confirmed the news on twitter: “Read somewhere I’m doing kunals next with shahid! Love how they knw even before me :p uska toh nahi pata but have signed Race-2 fr sure ”
The film will hit theaters next year…

Australian Store Pulls Racially Insensitive Doll In Anticipation Of The Big O's Visit!

If it's that racially insensitive, they probably shouldn't be selling these at all!
Oprah Winfrey's trip to Australia has allegedly brought attention to a "racist" doll being sold down under, and caused the shop owners to withdraw them from display!
The talk show hostess is schedule to attend a cocktail party at The Dafel Dolls and Bears Shop in Melbourne, but when representatives from Harpo Productions arrived for a preliminary interview, they noticed that one of the golliwog style doll, dressed as a "Mamee" washer woman, was politically incorrect, and allegedly asked for it to be removed!
The store's owner claims to have signed a confidentiality agreement that bans him from talking about the situation, but did reveal:

"Oprah's people came…and yes it was discussed."

Wow!
If it's that racially insensitive, they probably shouldn't be selling these at all!

Taylor Swift Reveals Her 21st B-Day Plans!

Raise your glass to Taylor Swift ya'll as next week, the country princess will be turning 21.
It's big milestone birthday, usually celebrated by circling the bottom of a keg or face-planting on the strip in Vegas. But Taylor's classy and she's got something else planned for her big day.
Swifty confessed to sources that she'll be having a "Christmas themed birthday party" where the guests give each other presents instead of her. She explains it's " not so much a spotlight birthday [thing]," which is just fine by her. She adds:

“I didn’t want it to be a crazy club thing, I just want it to be very me and the me thing to do would be to have a Christmas birthday party."

You've always got to be true to who you are! Considering that that's the same girl who sold a million records in one week, we'd say she's a perfect person to be!

Joseph Brooks - Brooks' Son Questioned Over Girlfriend's Death

The son of Oscar-winning composer JOSEPH BROOKS is at the centre of a police investigation after his fashion designer girlfriend was found dead in a New York City hotel room.
Nicholas Brooks, 24, has been questioned by cops after the body of Sylvie Cachay was found submerged in a bathtub at the star-studded Soho House building in Manhattan early on Thursday (09Dec10) morning. He was reportedly seen leaving the hotel in the early hours and returned to find emergency services attending the scene. Bottles of prescription drugs were allegedly found in the room.
Brooks has not been charged with any crime and is said to be helping police with their inquiries, according to the Associated Press.
His father, the acclaimed screenwriter/composer, is currently facing trial over allegations he molested a number of aspiring actresses who visited his apartment to audition for screen roles.
He has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault charges.

Bollywood Actress Celina Jaitley is all set to stage her grand come back with Ganesh Acharaya directed film, ‘Money Hai To Honey Hai’, after having disappeared from the scene for some time with her International project ‘Love Has No Language’.

When I meet her for this interview at her spacious, but well decorated house in the suburbs, Celina talks in length about the film, and says that it is a story of six friends, who are strugglers in their own respective fields.
“I play a fashion designer, Shruti Pandey who has graduated from NIFT and yet struggles while trying to sell a pattern of her own to export houses”, Celina quips at the outset.
The film “Money Hai To Honey Hai”, Celina Jaitley states, sets out to drive home the subtle message that today’s education system really sucks and how.
“It is a comical representation of today’s education system and stars besides me, stars like Govinda, Aftab Shivdasani, Upen Patel, Manoj Bajpai, Ravi Kishen and Hansika Motwani. Each of us has a different background as a struggler in the film”.
Yet another film with which Celina is quite excited is Subhash Ghai’s ‘Hello Darling’ in which she plays a young catholic girl called Candy Fernandes. “Candy is a little dumb when people try to talk in double language to her.
The film dwells at length about how it is wrong on the part of people in society today to judge a woman on the basis of what she is wearing. It is a chic film and I enjoyed working with Isha Koppikar and Gul Panag”, says Celina.
The actress then hastens to clarify, “Just because there are three women in Hello Darling like there were in Charlie’s Angels, it does not mean that you should jump to the conclusion that Hello Darling is a rehash of Charlie’s Angels”.
Celina states that she can identify herself with the role in Hello Darling completely.
“People feel that I am anglicized and cannot talk in Hindi when the fact is that I am from a Hindi medium school background and very good in Sanskrit and Hindi.
I may flaunt blood costumes on the screen, but am conservative at heart and a very simple and down to earth girl who is rooted to the family”.
Celina is happy that she gets to play a comic role in Golmaal Returns. “I am a young well educated girl who is doing her graduation in Microbiology.
Just as Kareena Kapoor‘s character is named Ekta Kapoor, my character is named Mira Nair, though it has got nothing to do with filmmaker Mira Nair. I have been teamed opposite Shreyas Talpade in the film.
The best thing about Shreyas and me is that we have very good timing to carry off the comedy scenes. I have been a great fan of Sridevi as far as comedy roles are concerned”, states Celina.
Celina confesses that she realized that she had a comic streak to her as an actress when she acted in ‘No Entry’ in which she had a zany comic role.
“After No Entry, I have done a spate of comedy films like Apna Sapna Money Money, Tom Dick & Harry, Money Hai To Honey Hai and now Golmaal Returns”
After Apna Sapna Money Money and Hello Darling, Celina has been repeated in Paying Guest by Mukta Arts. “I am lucky to have been singled out by Ghaisaab for a third film in his production company.
I play a cry baby architect in ‘Paying Guest’ which by the way is being directed by Paritosh Painter. I have been a fan of Paritosh who comes up with excellent plays.
Besides the Mukta Arts, I have also been signed for a three- film contract by Kumar Mangat, Ashtavinayak and Suneel Darshan”
Celina is quite excited about her recent foray to the West with a film called ‘Love Has No Language’ directed by Ken Khan.
“I play an Indian Bengali girl brought up in New Zealand. My parents played by Kiran Kumar and Rati Agnihotri are very orthodox and want me to marry an Indian boy of their choice, whereas I am in love with a Kiwi boy.
I am kiwi by nature and hence am stuck between my family and the boy played by Ben Mitchell. with whom I am in love with. It is a modern story”
It is interesting to note that Celina was slated to act in yet another English film called ‘Quest of Shehzada’. “However because of the writer’s Strike abroad, the film has been kept on hold and the shooting is yet to start.
Though the director is yet to be finalized, Orlando Bloom is being considered as an actor”, she states as she concludes. Jyothi Venkatesh

Al Bundy Denies Hating On Sue Sylvester

Turns out it was all a misunderstanding through misquoting.
Earlier in the week, a source quoted Ed O'Neill of Modern Family as saying that Glee's Jane Lynch was undeserving of her Emmy win this past awards season. Specifically, Ed was quoted as saying that she shouldn't have gotten the accolade because her role on the hit Fox show "was just a one-note character.”
Now, Ed has come forward to deny the whole thing, insisting that the source misquoted him. In a statement released to Entertainment Weekly, Ed explains:

“Last week I spoke to a group of journalists and one quoted me supposedly saying of Jane Lynch, ‘I don’t think she should have gotten the Emmy for that part.’ I never said those words and transcripts of the press conference attest to that fact. Of course I root for my dear friends Sofia Vergara and Julie Bowen (and all of my colleagues on our show) at Emmy time, but I absolutely never said, nor do I believe that Jane — whom I think is an enormous talent — was undeserving of the award. I reached out to her yesterday to ensure she knew I’d been misquoted but I wanted to clear this up publicly as well.”

Thanks for the clarification. Even before this apology, Jane's reps said that she wanted to just let it go, so we're going to follow her lead.

Being In The Presence Of RPatz Is Apparently Worth $80k!

This is absolutely INSANE!
Some ridiculous Twi-Hard has reportedly spent $80,000 - for the sole purpose of securing a meet-and-greet with Robert Pattinson while the sparkly vamp is in Vancouver shooting Breaking Dawn!
If there's a silver lining on that kind of crazy, the money has at least gone to chairty!
The auction was part of a fundraiser for the Go Campaign, which is a nonprofit group that supports grassroots projects for children in need. The $80,000 bid was the highest the group has reportedly ever seen.
No shit! That's ridiculous - and all over him?! He's seksi and all, but YEESH!
Regardless, though, the money has gone to good use, and that's what's most important!

GaGa Hacker Apologizes

A mature step in the right direction.
The eighteen year old young German who hacked into Lady GaGa's personal files to steal pictures and unreleased songs has come forward to apologize.
He wrote a letter to our wifey through a German paper, expressing his remorse for invading her privacy, as well as some other celebs like Justin Timberlake and Ke$ha. The letter reads:

"Dear Lady Gaga,
I am ashamed of what I have done. I did not think about the consequences…I realise that my ambition was a big mistake," he said. "I will apologise to everyone I caused problems for with my hacking."

After admitting he was "unbelievably sorry," his lawyer stepped in to defend his client, claiming that the boy knows he made a "mistake" and that he was just consumed by the thrill of hacking.
Hopefully, the thrill has passed and he has learned his lesson. Otherwise, we hope he likes prison.
