Incarcerated star Wesley Snipes has filed a new appeal against his three-year prison sentence for tax evasion.
Snipes spent two years fighting his 2008 conviction for failing to file tax returns, and checked in to the McKean Federal Correctional Institute in Lewis Run, Pennsylvania on December 9 to begin his sentence.
According to TMZ, Snipes’ lawyers have now filed a fresh appeal, asking that the actor be released from prison so he can take his tax evasion fight all the way to the US Supreme Court.
Snipes’ legal team wants the judges at the Supreme Court to decide whether the actor should be granted a new trial, following reports of alleged jury misconduct in the previous case in 2008.
He’s tenacious, I’ll give him that. What do you think. Should Snipes be granted a new trial?
