Obama Streaker Juan James Rodriguez Apologizes; Accepts Partial Prize

Juan James Rodriguez has apologized for running naked in front of President Barack Obama during a weekend campaign stop in Philadelphia in hopes of snagging a $1 million grand prize issued by a wealthy online prankster.
Rodriguez, 24, was arrested Sunday night for public lewdness after streaking 25 feet away from the president.

“I just ripped off my clothes, then I made my way away from the crowd so no one would get hurt,” Rodriguez told TV’s Inside Edition Wednesday. “Ran past the cameras away from everybody and then knelt down with my hands behind my head and waited for the cops to come.”
Rodriguez — an unemployed, father of three, who is separarted from his wife — said he pulled the stunt in hopes of claiming a $1 million to help his family — but he never meant to embarrass the president.
“Mr. Obama, if you feel I disrespected you in any way, I’m very sorry for that,” he said.
Rodriguez faces charges of public lewdness, indecent exposure, and disorderly conduct.
The billionaire who issued the challenge, Alki David, nonetheless argues that Rodriguez did not meet a major requirement of his challenge: He never got Obama to personally see him naked. However, Alki — who owns BattleCam.com — says that doesn’t mean Rodriguez will walk away empty-handed. He’s providing the cash-strapped Rodriguez with a “generous consolation prize,” that he insists will leave the New Yorker “overjoyed … beyond his wildest dreams.”

The Queen of Talk will reflect on the most memorable moments of her quarter-century as host of The Oprah Winfrey Show. O will hang up her microphone — a bid farewell to series staples like The Oprah Book Club and Oprah’s Favorite Things — in September to concentrate on the formation of her own cable network.
Barbara and Oprah meet Dec. 9 @ 9 PM on ABC. The Winfrey special will be followed by Babs’ annual rundown on the year’s “Most Fascinating People.”

We already hear that Emma Thompson and Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger are also in negotiations to play Agent Oh and Devil Girl in MIB 3.

Hilary Swank “Conviction” Movie Under Fire From Family Of Murder Victim

Double Oscar winner Hilary Swank has been criticized by Hollywood ambulance chaser Gloria Allred, who claims that Swank and MGM Studios failed to consult the film of a murder victim at the center of the new drama, Conviction, opening in theaters this Friday.

The tale is based on the real-life story of working mom Betty Ann Waters and her brother, who was convicted of the 1980 murder of Katharina Brow. The mother of two was found in her mobile home with more than 30 stab wounds. Kenneth Waters was convicted of her murder in 1983.
Betty Ann was eventually able to use DNA testing to get her brother freed from jail after 18 years. Conviction does not show a reenactment of the crime, instead focusing on Betty Ann’s efforts to work her way through law school, her unwavering devotion to her brother, and her work with the Innocence Project — an organization which works to free wrongly convicted prisoners.
Nonetheless, Brow’s children — represented by Allred — have publicly questioned Swank’s approach to the film, accusing the actress of insensitivity for not consulting the family prior to agreeing to star.

Nearly 25 years after Tom Cruise played iconic hero “Maverick” in the action film, Paramount Pictures has commenced discussions to revive the 80′s cult classic, New York Magazine said Wednesday. Viacom execs are negotiating with the film’s original producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to work on Top Gun 2.
Don’t forget to page the supporting stars of the original cast who played memorable roles like Goose, Iceman, and Charlie. They’re also being courted to reportedly take part in the project.
Cruise’s starring role in the original will be much smaller in the sequel, according to industry experts. While the former heartthrob was a protagonist in the first Top Gun, Mr. Katie Holmes will likely join the new cast as a flight instructor.
